Are you a First Nations, Metis, or Inuit professional who has experience working closely with Indigenous communities?
At CIBC, we are dedicated to building strong partnerships with Indigenous communities. Reporting to the Executive Director, Indigenous Trust, with a dotted line to the Vice President, Indigenous Markets, the Associate Relationship Manager (ARM), Indigenous Trust, supports the administration and management of Indigenous Trusts. Collaborating with a specialized team across Trust, Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management, the ARM helps address the unique needs of Indigenous clients and Trust structures.
In this role, you will assist Relationship Managers (RMs) and Trust Officers in managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with Trust Deeds, and supporting key procedures for effective administration. You’ll play a vital role in building trusted relationships with Indigenous Leadership, Communities, Trustees, and stakeholders while delivering tailored solutions to advance community goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support RMs in managing client relationships, acting as a key liaison for Indigenous communities and leadership.
- Assist in onboarding new Indigenous Trust clients and coordinating Community Trust meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
- Collaborate with wealth partners and stakeholders to develop and implement Trust solutions aligned with community priorities.
- Ensure Trusts are administered in compliance with Trust Deeds, policies, and regulations.
- Provide timely, professional communication and support for complex Indigenous Trust administration.
- Prepare reports and presentations for community leadership and members.
- Participate in Trustee and community meetings alongside RMs.
- Deliver education and training on Trust matters and financial literacy for Indigenous community members.
- Partner with internal and external experts on investment, tax, and compliance matters impacting Trusts.
- Contribute to the development of standards, policies, and procedures in Trust administration.
- Foster team growth through mentorship, training, and a commitment to CIBC’s values.
