Hazardous Materials and Indoor Air Quality

Today is the day to boost your career Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials and Indoor Air Quality team in our Regina office. 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Technologist will conduct effective worker exposure and workplace monitoring, safety inspections and audits. You will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

Conduct field work, including visits to sites and supervise remediation activities Collect and interpret various building material samples Coordinate and supervise sub-contractorsInspect abatement contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completedCollect and analyze Phase Contract Microscope (PCM) asbestos air samplesInterpret and analyze sample results in relation to legislative requirements and industry-accepted guidelinesPrepare detailed reports documenting findings and providing recommendations to address hazardous building material concernsManage time of projects effectively and efficientlyLiaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure health, safety and hygiene needs are addressed and metDevelop and maintain positive client relationships

A great attitude and willingness to learnStrong communication and organizational skills with an ability to follow detailed instructionsTechnical report writing skillsProficient with Microsoft Office ProductsAvailability to work outside our core business hours on occasionVehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance as travel around the designated region is requiredEntry level knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation/guidelines an assetHazardous Materials, Indoor Environmental Quality, and OHS industry experience an assetDiploma in Building Science, Architectural Technology / Science, Construction Technology or Civil Engineering Technology. Bachelor of Science or Applied Science is an assetExperience with building construction or maintenance, knowledge of building systems (structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, plumbing etc.)is an asset
