Job Description The Vice Principal is a proactive leader who maintains administrative and educational standards of a campus during their leadership time, reporting to the Campus Principal. This position will support the Campus Principal for all aspects of ongoing business operations at a campus, including Spirit of Math, Spirit of English and Spirit of Technology campus operations (online and in-person). Proven management experience or relevant role for one or more years, preferably in the educational sector. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent knowledge and practical expertise in MS Office. Education A degree from a recognized college or university is required. A Bachelor of Education is an asset, but not necessary. Accountabilities The Vice Principal will report to the Principal of Spirit of Math campus and: Assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the campus. Conducting regular performance reviews in collaboration with the principal and ensuring staff compliance with KPIs and company standards. Supporting the monitoring of student progress and achievements. Serving as a substitute teacher when necessary. Conducting student interviews to determine their suitability for the program. Assisting in completing administrative work. Supporting the oversight of marketing campaigns and campus growth. Ensuring alignment of curriculum and staff methodology with the company’s educational pedagogy. Supporting the recruitment and hiring of qualified staff. Assist in training and supervising teaching staff to maintain high standards of education. Providing HR with required documents as needed. Providing support and HR reviews for personnel working at the time the Vice Principal is working. Assisting teachers when dealing with student/parent concerns. Maintaining SoM business and educational standards. Responsibilities The Vice Principal has the following responsibilities: Comply and maintain SoM brand and teaching standards. Comply to SoM policies and procedures. Plan and facilitate summer camps. Work with the Principal to help conduct any campus events. Create an encouraging and engaging learning environment. Interact, communicate and create a strong community with teachers, parents, and students on a continual basis including welcoming students. Address any issues identified by parents and teachers in a professional and timely manner. Answer emails and phone calls. Help arrange make‑up and transfers of students. Work with the Principal to help maintain and provide necessary campus and classroom resources and inventory for staff. Maintain the campus facility while at the campus, fix problems as they happen and report any big problems immediately to the Campus Principal. Attend all annual training conferences, regional workshops and any mandatory SoM events happening on the day the Vice Principal is working. Partake in grade‑specific training/meetings and professional development sessions to increase knowledge in the SoM curriculum that are scheduled on the day that they are working. Conduct assistant teacher training and assist teacher training as needed. Open and close campus. Ensure campus safety and security during the time the Vice Principal is working. Have weekly meetings with the principal to maintain strong communication and to ensure a strong working relationship. Academic Responsibilities Conduct professional developments for teachers and assistant teachers in collaboration with the Principal; conduct daily huddles with teachers after campus sessions; mentor teachers; deliver lessons to students at least one day a week and substitute teach if necessary; monitor and report student performance; ensure personal professional development continues year after year; continual class assessments as determined by the Principal; keep Brightspace up weekly and all necessary information populated; support homework help sessions on the day the Vice Principal is working. Administrative Responsibilities Submit expense reports as needed; order supplies; report any damage and help fix it; ensure all student files are kept up to date and secure and coordinate with the Principal; register new students per SoM procedures; maintain proficiency in the various technology platforms; assist with marketing events and campaigns; keep records up to date; print summer camp materials.
