Position Overview The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pediatrics within the College of Medicine is seeking a full-time general pediatric specialist for a locum term. The start date is flexible, ranging from March 31, 2025 to August 31, 2025. There is also the option to negotiate a shorter term or focus solely on inpatient work. The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to providing exemplary health care for children, ensuring excellence in training of future pediatric health care providers, undertaking meritorious research, and advocating for the health and well-being of children and youth. Location of practice: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The successful applicant will provide clinical services as a member of the Department of Pediatrics and will hold appointments with both the University of Saskatchewan and the SHA. Appointment with the university will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level. The new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for children, mothers and families from across our province. Centrally located on the University of Saskatchewan campus, our new children’s hospital provides neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric emergency and ambulatory services. Maternal services include labour and delivery, antepartum and postpartum care. The 176-bed facility provides high-quality care and supports research and innovation. Virtual Tour: Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital This is an independent contractor position; benefits are the responsibility of the successful candidate. Responsibilities Provide inpatient services at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH). Provide outpatient services. Deliver 10 weeks of inpatient clinical teaching unit (CTU) at JPCH. Engage in 4–5 general pediatrics clinics per week when not on CTU. Qualifications and Experience Board-certified or eligible in pediatric medicine. Eligibility for appointment at the University of Saskatchewan at the level of assistant, associate or full professor. Strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and research in pediatrics.
