Job Overview Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, and social consulting services. We are seeking a Human Health Risk Assessment Specialist who will serve as the technical lead for human health risk assessments across Canada. Applicants may work remotely but should be willing to travel occasionally to ERM’s offices—Vancouver (BC), Calgary (AB), Toronto (ON)—or to client sites as needed. Key Responsibilities Lead the human health risk assessment components of environmental assessment projects and ensure the technical quality of all models and reports. Guide junior team members and build an effective scientific team to deliver a growing portfolio of projects. Develop technical proposals, including scopes, cost estimates, and participate in business development with existing and prospective clients. Engage regulators, Indigenous groups, communities, and stakeholders as part of broader project teams. Recommend long‑term monitoring strategies and compliance measures related to human health risk assessment for clients. Participate in internal and external training to maintain and expand expertise, staying current on regulatory changes. Collaborate with ERM employees worldwide through technical communities and market‑focused groups. Support ERM’s health and safety culture and workplace environment. Required Qualifications & Desired Skills Minimum 6–8 years (10+ preferred) of consulting experience in designing and delivering human health risk assessments for environmental projects; regulatory and/or industry experience valued. Strong knowledge of Health Canada technical approaches and provincial requirements. Experience with contaminated site assessment is beneficial; emphasis on environmental assessment experience. Eligibility for, or registration as, a Qualified Professional for oversight of regulatory deliverables. Demonstrated ability to integrate human health risk assessment into larger environmental assessment and permit applications, particularly for mining projects. Experience with First Nations engagement and regulatory review processes is desirable. Advanced communication, writing, organization, and time‑management skills. Master’s degree in Toxicology, Biochemistry, or a related technical field preferred; Bachelor’s acceptable with substantial practical experience. Compensation & Benefits Annual base pay range: CAD $109,733 – $139,883 (USD equivalent). Pay determined by education, qualifications, certifications, experience, performance, travel, and business needs. Eligible for bonus pay (see ERM policy).
