If you are excited about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply Responsibilities and Demands for the position include: Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Chief Power Engineer, including oversight of maintenance activities in accordance with the Quality Control Program (QCP), participation in engineering upgrades and management of change processes, and support in the operation, maintenance, and integrity of the steam system Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the Sulfuric Acid plant boiler, two Ammonium Sulphate Crystallization Plants, two Oxygen Plants and the Utility Plant (2 high pressure boilers) Ensure the steam and pressure systems are operated and maintained according to applicable laws and regulations Liaise with the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) concerning on-site boilers and pressure vessels Responsible for activities to ensure safe practices and environmental compliance Maintain standards, policies and work-instructions as per regulations and operation needs Responsible for meeting cost effective production targets Supervise, coach and monitor performance of the crew Responsible for required training programs for the Power Engineer trainees Foster communication with the different stakeholders as required Perform other work assignments as required Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture Comply with the Leaders’ values: provide meaning and direction, transform strategies into actions, motivates and develops teams, builds trust with customers and stakeholders, dares to bring change and innovation, promotes cooperation and adaptability Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Respect and People Development, Cohesion and Team Spirit, and Exemplarity, Integrity, Responsibility Skills and Qualifications for the position include: Must possess a 1st Class Power Engineer’s certificate Consideration will be given to those who have a 2nd Class ticket with progress towards their 1st Class 5+ years of related work experience is preferred Previous supervision experience is considered an asset Previous work experience within a chemical plant, acid plant, and crystallization experience is an asset Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and with Delta-V DCS control systems Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with other departments and work closely and effectively with all team members Effective communication skills including verbal, written and electronic Work Location, Schedule & Conditions: McClean Lake site 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required Some exposure to lifting and high heat conditions are requiredli> Benefits and advantages of working with us: Competitive salary and benefits package A welcoming environment and great co-workers Training, development, and career advancement opportunities Many indoor recreational activities some of which include: full size gymnasium, racquetball court and fitness facilities, billiards, art room, band room, and ongoing scheduled recreational activities such as bingo, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, fitness classes, archery, pickle ball, art and pottery classes, etc. Outdoor recreational activities (weather permitting) some of which include: fishing, canoeing, paddleboards, bicycles, tennis courts, snow shoeing, etc. Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Tuesday Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston. As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks. Drug (including marijuana) and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all Safety Sensitive positions.
