Business Peer Mentor — Hybrid (Ottawa) Business in the Streets (BITS) is a Canadian charity that helps young people create their own jobs. Through our signature 8‑week business programs we offer business training, mentorship and funding to help young entrepreneurs who otherwise might struggle to find the knowledge, tools and support they need to start or grow their business. Brief Role Description You will act as an accountability partner for program participants, supporting them by sharing ideas, advice, honest feedback, accountability and encouragement throughout the program. You won’t need to create or provide teaching material; our programs are taught by facilitators. Location Hybrid based in Ottawa, ON, Canada Responsibilities Provide a safe and inclusive space where mentees feel encouraged to explore new ideas. Follow up with your mentee and keep them accountable, always through the lens of empathy first. Share advice and work experiences that support your mentee’s development as an entrepreneur. Support your mentee during sessions for the duration of the program. Qualifications A business professional working in marketing, strategy, sales, finance ouother fields relevant to small business, or an entrepreneur with at least 3+ years experience. Excellent people skills (patient, creative, compassionate). Based in Ottawa, ON, Canada. Available Saturdays from January 17th to March 14th 2026. Program Schedule Mentor Orientation: Thursday, January 15th 2026 @ 6‑8pm (Virtual) Program Orientation: Saturday, January 17th 2026 @ 10am‑1pm (In‑Person) Program Sessions: Saturdays January 24th to March 7th 2026 @ 10am‑1pm (Virtual) Pitch Day: Saturday, March 14th 2026 @ 10am‑3pm (In‑Person) Role Details This is a temporary volunteer position Fully-remote, approximately 4.5 hours a week for 8 weeks from Saturday January 17th to March 14th 2026.
