We are currently seeking applicants for a Electrical Estimator position to assist our client. We welcome you to submit your application, if you are interested. Responsibilities Project Evaluation: Review project documents, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work and project requirements. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and precise cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor bids, and other relevant expenses. Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information and prepare comprehensive bid proposals. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with projects and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project profitability. Vendor and Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, contracts, change orders, and other relevant documentation. Value Engineering: Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize project costs without compromising quality or client requirements. Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, including engineers, designers, and construction managers, to support project planning and execution. Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to electrical construction and estimating practices. Fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks. Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. Work locations vary; flexibility and willingness to travel as needed. Qualifications Bachelors degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 6 months - 1 year of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry, preferably in commercial or industrial projects. Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of local GTA market conditions and suppliers is an asset.
