Responsibilities The Electrical Estimator is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Chief Estimator. Responsible for all aspects of estimating and ensure strict adherence to B&M policies and procedures relating to the estimating process. Liaise with customers to ensure continuity of work opportunities and with vendors to maintain competitiveness within the industry. Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications. Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards. Participate in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetings. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors. Competency Requirements Communicates Effectively Customer Focus Holds Self and Others Accountable Problem Solving and Innovation Teamwork and Collaboration Education Requirements Graduate of electrical estimating or construction program. Several years’ experience working in the electrical construction sector. Work Experience Requirements 3+ years’ experience in estimating electrical ICI construction work or on P3 projects. Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements Proficient knowledge and understanding of estimate closure. Project electrical design interpretation. Construction scheduling, planning, and execution. Organization and time management. Excellent communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work with deadlines. Advanced User Of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project). Accubid.
