Description

As the Director of Finance at GoodMorning.com, you will be at the helm of orchestrating the company's financial, procurement, risk management, and real estate functions, ensuring seamless integration and strategic alignment with our overarching business goals. This role demands a visionary leader with a meticulous eye for detail, adept at steering the Finance team towards operational excellence, and optimizing financial performance and controls across all levels of the organization. Your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional financial oversight to include overseeing the procurement process, ensuring cost-efficient procurement of essential goods and services, and strategically managing the company's real estate assets to support business expansion and operational needs.

In this capacity, you will craft and execute comprehensive financial and legal strategies, monitor and control expenditures, evaluate investment opportunities with a keen focus on maximizing returns and safeguarding the company's financial stability. A critical component of your role involves developing robust risk management frameworks to protect against financial and legal uncertainties and overseeing the management of the company's assets and liabilities, ensuring a balanced and growth-oriented financial portfolio.

As a senior leader, your influence will permeate through high-level strategy sessions, where your financial acumen will guide decision-making, risk assessment, and strategic planning. You will foster an environment of transparency and accountability, engaging with stakeholders to bolster confidence in the company's financial health and strategic direction. In this role, you will

  • Lead strategic financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals across the Finance, Risk Management, Procurement, and Real Estate functions.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyzing these reports to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Manage and control budgets effectively, enforcing efficient resource utilization and expenditure across departments.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and manage risks, incorporating strategies that align with procurement and real estate functions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory standards, staying updated on regulatory changes.
  • Implement robust internal controls to minimize risk and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for regular audits.
  • Oversee cash flow and liquidity management, ensuring strategic support for procurement and real estate needs.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategy to stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and senior management.
  • Lead and develop the Finance, Procurement, Real Estate, and Risk Management functions, set function goals, establish performance indicators (PIs), monitor operational performance, and develop talent within these functions.
  • Manage investments to boost financial stability and growth, analyzing market trends and managing risks to enhance the company's financial health.
  • Maintain and negotiate banking relationships and financial agreements, enhancing corporate finance strategies.
  • Ensure strategic contract negotiations, aligning procurement and real estate agreements with financial health.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of financial systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Maintain ownership of the company's assets and liabilities on the balance sheet, ensuring accurate representation and management of financial health.
  • Act as a key financial and legal advisor and partner to all functions, providing financial and legal insights and advice to support decision-making.
  • Actively contribute to the leadership team's strategic discussions, decisions, and initiatives, aligning operations with organizational objectives.
  • Influence strategic planning and executive decision-making, bringing financial insights to the forefront of business strategy and investment priorities.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, championing projects that drive organizational transformation and contribute significantly to GoodMorning.com’s strategic objectives and key results.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or another related field is essential, with a strong preference for candidates holding an advanced degree such as an MBA.
  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation is mandatory, underpinning the role's requirement for in-depth financial knowledge and expertise.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related fields, including a proven track record in senior finance roles, with prior experience in the consumer goods sector or similar industries highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience within compliance and risk management, demonstrating a robust capability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal and financial risks.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience, showcasing effective leadership in recruiting, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and execution, with a strong ability to develop financial strategies that align with the company's long-term objectives and operational goals.
  • Extensive experience in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of procurement, real estate, and risk management functions, ensuring cohesive financial oversight across these critical areas.
  • Proven ability in asset and liability management, including effective oversight of the company's balance sheets to ensure financial stability and growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to perform in-depth financial analyses, forecasting, and scenario planning to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience in developing and implementing financial controls and governance frameworks to enhance financial integrity and compliance across the organization.

Skills

  • Profound knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including laws, best practices, financial strategies, budget management, and detailed financial reporting and analysis. Demonstrated proficiency in investment, risk management, and compliance with financial regulations.

  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining robust internal controls and effectively coordinating with both internal and external audit processes to guarantee financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled in cash flow and liquidity management, developing strategies to enhance financial positions and support organizational growth and stability.
