Sr. Android Engineer - SDK Location: Canada – Remote Division: Marketplace Engineering Line Manager: Senior Director Contract Terms: Full time Job Summary Be part of something special This role of Sr. Engineer (Android) will have a mix of coding and collaboration responsibilities to help sustain and grow our SDKs, which are embedded in over 500 client apps worldwide, including top‑ranked apps in app stores. You’ll be challenged to envision the technical aspects and solutions for the future landscape of globalizing and expanding our SDKs. Responsibilities 5-6+ years of professional experience in software development Extensive experience developing robust, mission‑critical systems using multiple general‑purpose programming languages (Kotlin or Java) Deep understanding and practical experience with Jetpack Compose and ModerUI development Proficiency in Kotlin Coroutines and StateFlow/SharedFlow for asynchronous programming and reactive data handling Hands‑on experience with Hilt/Dagger for scalable and maintainable architecture Expertise in MVVM, MVI and similar architectural approaches Previous experience designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact A strong understanding of how the SDK interacts with the broader production environment, including dependencies and platform primitives Exposure to React Native Proven ability to learn other coding languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools Experience owning projects from the initial idea all the way to production Experience mentoring junior engineers Technical Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of software engineering experience (predominantly within Native Android Development) and a deep understanding of mobile app performance, architecture, and full‑stack development Strong technical skills in mobile app development, with experience on iOS and Android platforms Experience with Agile development methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA Previous proven ability to lead a team through the full life cycle of software development Demonstrated expertise in building software with one or more of the following: infrastructure, databases, data processing, machine learning, distributed systems, security, and privacy Behavioral Skills Ability to meet commitments and multitask in a fast‑paced work environment Great team player with a positive attitude Ability to own and manage multiple concurrent projects, including presenting and negotiating with stakeholders on interdependencies and realistic delivery possibilities Experience building services or applications where performance is a critical consideration Experience with performance tuning and optimizations at scale Language Requirements Due to the nature of the role, this position requires interaction with English‑speaking clients, colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers. A high level of proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required. While a working knowledge of French is also encouraged.
