Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer Join the innovative team building RBC’s cloud platform. As a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will utilize your software and systems engineering background to support large‑scale, fault‑tolerant enterprise systems, ensuring internal cloud platform reliability and maximum uptime. What you will do Build scalable systems, using best practices around automation, and push changes that improve reliability and velocity. Carry out regular cloud operation tasks and provide support for application development teams utilizing cloud resources. Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, and planning and reviews. Maintain services once live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. Provide mentorship and training to team members on technologies and processes, driving education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical practices, and relevant tools. Drive high standards around incident response practices and policies. Requirements Must‑have 5+ years of experience in an operational or support role (Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering). 3+ years of experience deploying apps with tools like Elasticsearch, Kafka on AWS, Azure or private cloud environments. 3+ years of experience doing development in Python, Java, Node.js, or .NET Core. 3+ years of experience developing applications with an active user base, deploying to production and going through change management processes. 5+ years of experience with development or administration on any cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenShift clusters. Experience providing standardized offerings for operational health (metrics collection, aggregation, visualization, inventory, capacity, billing/tag management). Experience with monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting (preferably Splunk and Dynatrace). Understanding and implementation of modern CICD deployment using GitHub Actions, Terraform, Jenkins, etc. Experience writing automation scripts in Python, Bash, or specific cloud CLI tools. Nice‑to‑have Experience with Elastic Kubernetes Service (AWS) or Azure Kubernetes Service (Azure). Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, or Grafana. Experience automating manual processes and tests. Experience in Elasticsearch, Kafka, and OpenShift Kubernetes environments. Experience with IaC tools like Terraform at enterprise scale.
