Overview Join to apply for the Retail Area Manager in Training role at Canna Cabana . We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Area Manager in Training to join our team. This is a unique opportunity designed to provide hands-on leadership experience in preparation for a future Area Manager role. As an Area Manager in Training , you will oversee daily operations, team development, and profitability. Working closely with the Area Manager, you’ll contribute to operational success across multiple sites while gaining hands-on experience in multi-unit leadership. This dual responsibility is designed to accelerate growth through real-time exposure, mentorship, and strategic involvement. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of operations for your assigned stores, including sales performance, staff development, customer experience, and profitability. Promote clear communication, understanding, and belief in the company’s mission and goals. Inspire and coach all employees toward a unified objective. Own monthly and weekly revenue and profit projections, ensuring alignment with business targets. Oversee Store Managers to ensure staff scheduling aligns with daily and weekly revenue expectations. Review monthly sales objectives and develop actionable strategies to meet or exceed targets. Provide timely and effective guidance to Store Managers and direct reports to ensure operational excellence. Foster a culture of growth by supporting direct reports in their roles, enhancing engagement and driving top performance. Build strong, positive working relationships with staff and partners to support overall company performance. Lead training initiatives that support organizational goals and employee development. Enforce all company safety policies and procedures consistently across all locations. Respond promptly to store-level emergencies, ensuring resolution or escalation through appropriate channels. Identify deficiencies across stores and provide actionable solutions and coaching to improve performance. Take ownership of store and job profitability by identifying improvement areas and implementing strategic initiatives. Attend store-level and head office meetings as required to stay aligned with company priorities. Participate in regular leadership training and development activities designed to prepare you for advancement to an Area Manager position. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support business needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years in the retail industry in a multi-unit role. Must have CannaSell Certification and a clean police record check. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail software, and Internet usage. Excellent communication skills; ability to speak clearly and confidently in all business settings and to conduct meetings. Strong business math skills and the ability to apply concepts of discounts, interest rates, and percentages. Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of direct reports. Ability to motivate, inspire, provide, and accept feedback from employees. Strong prioritization and time-management skills to set action plans and achieve targets. Ability to take responsibility for subordinates’ activities, be available to staff, provide regular performance feedback, and encourage growth.
