Senior Design Engineer Fluor Corporation – Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Job Overview Fluor is a leading global engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance company focused on innovation and cost‑effective solutions. We are looking for a senior design engineer who will provide technical leadership, advance our engineering excellence, and contribute to project success across our Vancouver and other locations. Job Description The role is responsible for designing and evaluating complex engineering solutions, leading technical reviews, and applying advanced engineering techniques to meet project objectives. Responsibilities Develop and review estimates, schedules, progress reports, and workforce forecasts. Track and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts. Develop and review specifications and design criteria. Participate in procurement activities, permitting, and subcontracting. Perform and validate complex engineering calculations, specify equipment, and solve technical problems. Mentor and develop team members through training and performance reviews. Make independent recommendations on technical solutions in line with organizational objectives. Other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements Accredited 4‑year engineering degree and 10+ years of related experience; professional certification or registration preferred. Strong communication skills with a range of audiences. Technical knowledge required to perform job duties. Ability to learn and apply local, provincial and national statutes and guidelines. Attention to detail and time‑management skills. Professional registration and membership in a technical society (preferred). Advanced knowledge of discipline codes, standards, and commercial material costs. Estimating and staff forecasting experience. Experience managing and leading large projects. Control‑level scheduling, progress reporting and project close‑out experience. Field experience and intermediate computer/software skills. Preferred Qualifications & Benefits Fluor offers competitive compensation (salary range $111,000 – $215,000) and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision care, flexible spending, retirement, parental top‑up, education reimbursement, and employee assistance programs. Fluor operates a compressed work schedule—every second Friday off—in the Vancouver office.
