The Manual QA Tester will be responsible for validating web and/or mobile applications through manual testing and database verification using SQL queries. The role involves executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring that data is correctly stored and processed in backend databases. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for testability. Design, document, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and checklists for functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing. Perform database testing by writing and executing SQL queries to validate data integrity, CRUD operations, and business rules. Log defects with clear steps, actual vs expected results, and attach relevant evidence in defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps). Re-test fixed issues and support regression testing to ensure no impact on existing functionality. Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product owners to clarify requirements and support root-cause analysis of defects. Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, stand‑ups, reviews) in Agile/Scrum environments where applicable. Contribute to test data preparation and environment readiness checks. Required Skills and Qualifications 4+ years of experience as a Manual Tester / QA Engineer (adjust as per your need). Strong understanding of software testing concepts, STLC, defect lifecycle, and test design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning, etc.). Practical experience in writing and executing SQL queries (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY, etc.) for data validation. Experience testing web and/or mobile applications, including UI, functional, and regression testing. Hands‑on with at least one test/defect management tool such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar. Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to document clear test cases and bug reports. Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with cross‑functional teams. Good to Have Exposure to basic API testing (e.g., Postman, REST clients) for request/response validation. Familiarity with automation tools or scripting (e.g., Selenium, Java, Python) for future growth into automation. Experience with Agile/Scrum projects and CI/CD environments.
