Essential Job Functions Maintain the DB2 subsystem procs and JCL Execute backups of DB2 system catalog and directory files with reorgs Perform basic change‑management functions: ticketing, opening and closing changes, etc. Conduct data‑security audits (collect evidence of compliance, correct non‑compliances found in an audit) Install and upgrade DB2 subsystems Install new DB2 subsystems and related sub‑products; upgrade existing subsystems and related sub‑products Apply preventative/corrective maintenance PTFs and HIPER PTFs on test and production system software libraries Enforce DB2 security and audit conformance; perform disaster‑recovery drill exercises Understand basic parameters in DSNZPARM and their usage Conduct regular system tuning and review memory/resource consumption based on daily performance reporting and on‑line monitoring Interface with Change Support and vendor software support to resolve system software problems or issues Work with Automation to provide automated responses to system situations requiring intervention; tune and manage DB2 buffer‑pool settings Develop complex DB2 configurations needed for SYSPLEX and DataSharing environments; lead complex projects including client‑driven and internal upgrade projects MQ Skills & Responsibilities Maintain the MQSeries subsystem procs and JCL Backup MQSeries system components Perform basic change‑management functions: ticketing, opening and closing changes, etc. Conduct data‑security audits (collect evidence of compliance, correct non‑compliances found in an audit) Create/install new MQSeries subsystems and related sub‑products; upgrade existing subsystems and related sub‑products Define and configure MQ Pageset, point the storage class to the Pageset, transfer storage class name to the Account MQ Admin, allocate channels, define buffer pools, control security rules for processes Apply preventative/corrective maintenance PTFs and HIPER PTFs on test and production system software libraries Enforce MQSeries security and audit conformance; install network connectivity on the mainframe side; set up disaster‑recovery of pagesets, logs, bootstrap datasets and related MQSeries and sub‑product system software components; perform disaster‑recovery drill exercises Support MQSeries Distributed Queue Management Work Environment Position combines remote work with in‑office days at our Toronto location. 24/7 on‑call support – rotation.
