Account Manager, Oil Sands – Weir Minerals Location: Calgary, AB, Canada – Onsite Purpose of the Role: The Account Manager is responsible for driving original equipment and after‑market sales, as well as trial opportunities, directly at end‑user sites. Building long‑term trusting relationships with customer personnel at the engineering, maintenance, operations and senior management levels is essential to enhance Weir Minerals’ revenue growth and market share. Key Responsibilities Build long‑term trusting relationships with on‑site customer personnel in engineering, maintenance, operations and senior management to solve their greatest challenges. Identify opportunities to increase Weir Minerals’ footprint and market share at end‑user sites through consultative sales processes, including post‑OE sales support, multi‑product integration and exclusive material/equipment trials. Demonstrate presence at all levels of the customer’s business by developing relationships with corporate personnel to drive technology approvals, understand scope of future operation expansions and present solutions alongside Weir product line stakeholders. Negotiate customer contracts, from major MSAs to projects and pricing support for large purchase orders, with a mindset focused on increasing top‑line revenue and bottom‑line profitability. Commit to a zero‑harm safety culture and demonstrate 100% commitment to our safety behaviours. Qualifications Minimum of five (3) years of experience selling engineered rotating equipment or other mechanical solutions in highly erosive environments; Alberta Oilsands experience and an established network of contacts is highly beneficial. Strong competitive nature complemented by active listening skills and a consultative selling approach. Exceptional ability to present information and respond to questions from a wide range of stakeholders representing management, technical and commercial interests. Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline with a focus on mechanical equipment designed for mining or related severe‑duty market segments preferred. Candidates without a technical education but with exceptional technical knowledge from prior selling experience will also be considered.
