Over the past five years, our client has tripled sales and is on track to double again within the next decade. This sustained growth, combined with planned acquisitions and a transition from review engagement to a full audit, has created the need for a highly skilled and strategic finance leader to join the organization. About the Role The Director of Finance is a key on‑site leadership position based in Etobicoke, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a hands‑on role overseeing financial reporting, audit, cash management, budgeting, and process improvement across multiple North American facilities (Toronto, Chicago, and Wixom). The Director will play a critical part in helping our client build a more centralized, structured, and disciplined finance organization while supporting ongoing growth and acquisition initiatives. Your Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to drive financial planning, execution, and decision support. Provide actionable insights to improve financial performance across the business. Financial Reporting & Audit Oversight Lead the accounting function, owning the month‑end close process and financial statement preparation. Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely audit deliverables. Cash & Working Capital Management Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury tasks, and working capital optimization. Drive improvements in AR, AP, and inventory controls to maximize liquidity. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles. Analyze SG&A and operational performance to support cost control and profitability. Process Improvement & Systems Standardize accounting processes and strengthen internal controls. Enhance ERP and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Concur) to improve accuracy and efficiency. Mentor and develop accounting and finance staff. Build a disciplined, high‑performing finance team focused on quality and continuous improvement. Cash Management: Working capital, treasury, liquidity optimization 20–25% Financial Consolidation: Multi‑entity reporting and analysis 10–15% Major Customer Finance (Sam’s Upstreaming): Reporting, costings, governance 20–25% Audits: Annual audit leadership and compliance 10–15% Insurance & Risk: Renewals, claims, customer requirements 10–15% Budgeting & Forecasting: Annual and quarterly planning cycles 10–15% Qualifications Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 2 in management. Proven expertise in GAAP, ASPE, and IFRS compliance. Experience in manufacturing, multi‑entity consolidation, and audit coordination preferred. Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros). Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills. Must be able to work 100% on‑site in Etobicoke.
