Job Title: Business Analyst Job Type: 12 month contract, 4 days on-site, Calgary Alberta. Job Salary: $90 - $95 / Hour. (Flexibility depending on experience) Role Overview: The Business Analyst is pivotal in bridging business needs and technical solutions for the modernization of capital forecasting and accrual processes. This role focuses on mapping current workflows, gathering requirements, and supporting the design and implementation of an integrated, automated solution that replaces manual, spreadsheet-driven processes. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the project lead to: Assess Current State: Document existing processes, pain points, and risks; map in-depth workflows across disciplines; and identify all data sources used for accruals and forecasting. Gather Requirements: Engage stakeholders (WBS owners, finance, development, etc.) to capture business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for system design. Help Design Future State: Collaborate with technical teams to propose new system architecture, data flows, and process improvements; support the design of user-centric interfaces and automation features. Data Governance: Help define standards for data integrity, validation, and auditability; clarify roles and responsibilities for data owners and system administrators. Testing & Validation: Develop test plans, coordinate user feedback cycles, and ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards. Reporting & Analytics: Specify requirements for reporting tools and dashboards, ensuring alignment with both corporate and department needs. Change Management: Support training and communication efforts to facilitate adoption and a smooth transition to new processes. Required Skills Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose practical solutions. Process Mapping: Experience documenting and optimizing business processes across multiple disciplines. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and facilitation skills to gather requirements and align diverse teams. Technical Acumen: Familiarity with financial systems (SAP, OpenInvoice) , data integration, automation, reporting tools and other systems (e.g., wellview, siteview). Data Governance: Understanding of data quality, validation, and audit principles. Documentation: Skilled in creating clear, actionable requirements, workflow diagrams, and training materials. Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience developing test cases and coordinating user acceptance testing. Change Management: Ability to support training, adoption, and communication plans for new systems.
