Sr. Operations Manager

Overview The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing the relationship with the 3PL provider of the Footlocker distribution facility. The role will ensure the 3PL drives improvement in operational efficiencies, cost control, safety, team member utilization, production, quality, and adherence to operational procedures. The position will manage the contractual agreement with the 3PL in partnership with legal to achieve all agreement requirements. This role is located onsite in the Milton, Canada facility. Responsibilities Effectively monitor day-to-day operations of the 3PL to ensure excellent performance in safety, quality, service, and cost per the agreement. Determine and implement short- and long-term objectives for the 3PL based on goals set by the VP of Supply Chain. Develop and maintain a strategic partnership with the selected 3PL vendor to support company long-term growth objectives. Support 3PL staffing plans by partnering with 3PL DC leadership to review sales objectives and trends. Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to continuously improve overall cost structure and customer experience. Continuously assess 3PL current and future capabilities to ensure the 3PL can meet short- and long-term needs and mitigate risk. Validate and approve any capital request from the 3PL not within the statement of work, aligning with the Footlocker capital asset request process. Provide weekly and monthly reviews of key metrics for 3PL performance to the Footlocker executive team. Strategically vet other potential 3PLs to maintain contingency plans if current performance is not maintained. Partner with the commercial VP for the region to ensure the 3PL can execute the long-range vision. Act as a direct point of contact for the VP of Commercial, Canada region for any 3PL performance escalations. Develop annual budgets for 3PL in partnership with finance based on previous performance and new objectives. Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Four plus years of management experience in a distribution center environment preferred. Experience managing cost in a distribution setting. Experience in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred. CPIM certification preferred. Teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with customers, associates, and senior management. Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others. Ability to think strategically and plan over a 3- to 6-month time span. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
