North Shore is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant for our Reclamation and Remediation Team , based out of Regina, Saskatchewan . Remote work agreements will also be considered for individuals based out of southeastern Saskatchewan . Key Responsibilities Developing and implementing reclamation and remediation plans on abandoned upstream oil and gas wellsites Overseeing the completion of assessment, groundwater, remediation, and reclamation projects Preparing and/or peer review of technical reports and documents Collaboration with Project Managers with the oversight of client budgets, tracking project status, and making recommendations to progress sites towards regulatory closure Coordinate with clients and staff to execute Environmental Site Assessments (Phase 1 ESAs, Phase 2 ESAs), vegetation assessments, groundwater monitoring programs, reclamation programs, Detailed Site Assessments (DSAs), Landowner Acknowledgements Forms (LAFs), and Acknowledgement of Reclamation (AOR) documents Work closely and develop relationships with landowners, client operations, government regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders Work closely with interdisciplinary groups (Technical Resource Group, Data Management Group, Biophysical team, and Vegetation Management team) to successfully execute client projects and programs Provide mentorship, support, and training to junior and intermediate staff Implement corporate and client safety programs Coordinating and supervising heavy equipment and other third-party contractors as required Ensuring that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner Support other environmental service line projects, as required Qualifications A minimum 10 years of consulting experience related to remediation, reclamation, or environmental science Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science or related discipline Experience with the utilization of the Saskatchewan upstream petroleum site soil remediation criteria Solid understanding and working knowledge of the upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in Saskatchewan Experience in the execution and supervision of Phase 2 ESAs and remediation projects in Saskatchewan Strong vegetation identification and soil characterization skills Willingness to travel and be in the field as dictated by project requirements Excellent communication, organizational, computer, and problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of contaminant transport in soil, surface water, and groundwater Advanced technical report writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Good physical health and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions Self-motivated and have a willingness to succeed within a team environment Highly organized and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks Valid driver’s license Preference will be given to candidates with three to nine years of directly related experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. Previous experience with managing various assessment, reclamation, and remediation projects will also be considered an asset. Compensation will be based upon candidate experience.
