Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Site Superintendent.
This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.
The Site Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising all on-site activities for construction projects. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and overseeing the quality of work. The Site Superintendent ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations on the construction site, including managing workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Monitor progress and adjust schedules and resources as needed to keep the project on track.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all workers adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety issues promptly.
- Maintain documentation of safety training and incident reports.
- Inspect work to ensure it meets the required quality standards and specifications.
- Resolve any issues related to workmanship and materials.
- Coordinate with quality control inspectors and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on-site.
- Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and submit daily progress reports and other documentation as required.
- Manage the allocation and use of materials, tools, and equipment on-site.
- Ensure that resources are used efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage and equipment maintenance.
- Review and approve time sheets and work orders.
- Maintain and update project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as Site Superintendent
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and building codes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
