Overview Engineer's role in designing and engineering components for nuclear power plant facilities, ensuring safety, compliance with nuclear standards, and supporting plant operations. Your role Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Engineering Science from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design of industrial machines, automation equipment, or equipment engineering (pumps, fans, motors, valves, heat exchangers, steam generators, pressure vessels, etc.). Experience with nuclear power plant procedures, operations, and nuclear facility design in Canada or abroad. Experience working on Nuclear ECC process. Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, qualified to seal mechanical and chemical engineering documents. Solid understanding of process systems, mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection, machine component design, equipment sizing, selection, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of/experience with nuclear pressure boundary codes and standards (CSA N285.0, ASME Sections III, CSA B51, ANSI B31.1, ASME Section VIII). Knowledge of seismic and environmental qualification methods. Experience with pressure vessels, valves, and ventilation systems relevant to nuclear power stations. Strong written and oral communication skills; presentation and public speaking ability a plus. Willingness to travel to project sites. Qualified within last 5 years as a Specialized Professional Engineer to ASME Section III is an asset. Experience performing work to nuclear power plant procedures and qualifications for nuclear engineering activities is an asset.
