Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Distribution Centres in Brockville and Johnstown, Ontario 2-3 days / week, and will occasionally work out of our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road.**Purpose:** Giant Tiger's food products will meet all food safety procedures required to ensure safe storage and handling at our DC's.**What You'll Be Doing:*** Implement and maintain food safety procedures at the DC's as outlined in the HACCP program* Implement and maintain the Safe Food For Canadians Regulations license in compliance with regulations* Implement corrective / preventative actions for deviations from the HACCP program* Coordinate recall and complaint activities for products stored at the Brockville and Johnstown warehouses* Deliver effective standard operating procedures for use in training of DC personnel**What You'll Bring*** Degree or Diploma in related field (Food & Safety, Biology, Health & Safety, Chemistry)* 2+ years experience working in retail, manufacturing or distribution centre food safety or quality assurance* Strong understanding of HACCP programs* Strong understanding of SFCR, CFIA protocols and Health Canada Regulations* Ability to develop and maintain SOPs* Excellent analytical, judgement and problem solving* Experience liaising with CFIA* Excellent verbal and written communication skills**Assets You May Have*** Food Safety CertificationsJoin Giant Tiger and gain meaningful work experience in a fun, community-focused environment.
