About This Role:
Workplace Arrangements
This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Distribution Centres in Brockville and Johnstown, Ontario 2-3 days / week, and will occasionally work out of our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road.
Purpose: Giant Tiger's food products will meet all food safety procedures required to ensure safe storage and handling at our DC's.
What You'll Be Doing:
Implement and maintain food safety procedures at the DC's as outlined in the HACCP program
Implement and maintain the Safe Food For Canadians Regulations license in compliance with regulations
Implement corrective / preventative actions for deviations from the HACCP program
Coordinate recall and complaint activities for products stored at the Brockville and Johnstown warehouses
Deliver effective standard operating procedures for use in training of DC personnel
What You'll Bring
Degree or Diploma in related field (Food & Safety, Biology, Health & Safety, Chemistry)
2+ years experience working in retail, manufacturing or distribution centre food safety or quality assurance
Strong understanding of HACCP programs
Strong understanding of SFCR, CFIA protocols and Health Canada Regulations
Ability to develop and maintain SOPs
Excellent analytical, judgement and problem solving
Experience liaising with CFIA
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
