Automotive Service Technician - 417 Nissan Dealership: 417 NissanLocation: Ottawa, ONClassification: Full Time, Onsite, Immediate vacancySalary: $28.00-$32.00 flat, plus productivity bonus, Safety boot allowance: $150.00 Role Overview As an Automotive Technician at 417 Nissan, you will diagnose, test, and repair vehicle systems to ensure safety and functionality. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspect key components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines, and mentor apprentices while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. Responsibilities Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance as outlined on repair orders, with accuracy and efficiency, meeting dealership and OEM standards. Communicate regularly with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production, cycle times, and customer expectations. Conduct multi‑point inspections, recommend repairs, and verify safety and reliability before vehicle return. Document all work on the repair order consistently with OEM standards, ensuring warranty coverage by the manufacturer. Maintain an inventory of non‑standard automotive technician tools as a “store‑provided” item. Stay current on factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training as required. Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and lift department revenue. Qualifications 5+ years as a licensed 310S Technician. Strong knowledge of various makes and models. Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process. Red Seal Certification is an asset. Completion of a related post‑secondary program or training courses. Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment. Capability to work independently and as part of a team. High integrity and strong work ethic. Valid driver’s licence and safe driving history. Benefits Competitive compensation and benefits package.
