The Director, Business Development is a senior consultative business development leader responsible for expanding Kingbridge’s corporate conferencing portfolio while uncovering deeper opportunities for executive learning and leadership development. Selling directly to C‑suite executives and senior leadership teams, this role builds enterprise-level, multi‑stakeholder relationships that position Kingbridge as a strategic partner and thought leader, rather than a transactional venue. Using a rigorous consultative and diagnostic approach, the Director assesses organizational priorities, identifies leadership capability gaps, and recommends integrated solutions that combine retreats, executive programs, custom learning experiences, and corporate milestone events. A core mandate is to secure and grow a portfolio of enterprise “anchor clients” who invest $250K–$750K annually across Kingbridge’s conferencing, executive development, and organizational wellness offerings. This position offers a modest base salary with significant bonus potential, reflecting both its strategic impact and critical revenue‑generating mandate. Key Responsibilities Target C‑suite and corporate decision‑makers. Cultivate and expand multi‑year enterprise relationships. Lead consultative discovery to diagnose organizational priorities. Design integrated conferencing and leadership development solutions. Negotiate high‑value agreements and long‑term partnerships. Oversee enterprise‑level proposals, pricing strategy, and value articulation. Drive strategic account growth and enterprise expansion. Business Development Execution Generate new leads and build a diverse pipeline. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target sectors. Attend networking events and industry forums to source prospects. Develop competitive intelligence and market trends to inform strategy. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of client needs and industry shifts. Respond promptly to inquiries and manage the full sales cycle. Conduct tours, site visits, and client engagements. Build strong relationships and understand buying patterns. Maintain consistent communication with accounts to ensure satisfaction and uncover opportunities. Prepare tailored proposals, presentations, and contracts. Negotiate rates and strategically upsell while maintaining brand integrity. Document all activities in CRM and contribute to sales strategy discussions. Qualifications and Experience College/university degree in business or hospitality. 10+ years’ experience in business development, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships. 5+ years’ experience in Business Development leadership roles. Strong background in B2B sales and negotiation. Experience selling to C‑suite and enterprise‑level executives. Preferred: Experience in hotel/conference centre, executive education, leadership development, or corporate training sectors. Demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce, Amadeus/Delphi CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite. Exceptional interpersonal, relationship‑building, and communication skills. Strong analytical skills and data‑driven decision‑making ability. Proven ability to craft custom proposals, presentations, and contracts. Ability to effectively deliver polished presentations to executive audiences. Working Conditions This role is on‑site at The Kingbridge Centre and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work. Given its high level of cross‑functional collaboration, leadership responsibilities, and client‑facing nature, the Director must be physically present to support the sales and marketing team, engage with on‑site clients, and maintain the Centre’s high standard of service delivery. The role also requires regular off‑site meetings with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. The Centre operates as a high‑level, “four‑star” facility; therefore, the Director is expected to uphold professional standards consistent with this environment. On occasion, extended hours, early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required to meet business needs, support major client events, or ensure critical deadlines are met. The position offers a low base with a high potential for earning commission.
