The Manager, Talent Planning & Development manages a team who is responsible for recruiting skilled candidates, develop employees through best-in-class training programs and implement strategies that will impact and influence overall employee engagement and experience across Canadian Disability and Group Life. Responsibilities Lead the Training, Leadership Development and Recruitment function for Canadian Disability and Group Life with full management accountability for the team including contributing to develop and set the vision and direction. In partnership with business leaders, develop a leadership development curriculum to ensure existing and new specialists and leaders are set up for success to deliver business results now and, in the future. Anticipate learning and development needs of the Disability team based on performance trends, industry, and other external factors. Oversee reporting and measurement of performance indicators ensuring strong leadership and development ROI. Liaise with Workforce Management and Disability Senior Leadership to anticipate and plan for future recruitment and training needs. Support the hiring of the right talent and monitor key recruitment metrics to identify and resolve issues affecting recruiting procedures. Develop a best-in-class training platform. Design training programs based on adult learning principles. Act as a catalyst for culture change and engagement by ensuring barriers are removed and successes are adopted across the Canadian Disability and Group Life organization. Required Qualifications A university degree in a relevant field. Deep knowledge and understanding of Canadian Disability and Group Life operations and products. Demonstrated ability to provide clear direction and guidance to ensure the successful execution of objectives. Strategic thinker who can translate business performance gaps into learning development, recruitment & training strategies. A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills who can generate options, build consensus, and execute with excellence. Preferred Qualifications Strong builder of people and teams with ability to rally teams around a common vision. Experience in developing and implementing learning and development solutions with a geographically disbursed workforce, leveraging adult learning best approaches, an asset. Demonstrated experience leading and managing projects through a combination of influence and direct authority. Demonstrates consultative approach with business partners and leaders. Exhibits strong understanding of issues and challenges for the business today and for the future. Ability to leverage data to be able to drive business decisions and prioritization. Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
