Job Title : Associate Director, Organizational Development & Engagement Department : Leadership | Talent and Organizational Development | Central Human Resources Compensation Range : $8,305.08 – $12,952.33 CAD Monthly Posting End Date : December 21, 2025 Job Summary : UBC’s Talent & Organizational Development (T&OD) unit empowers the University to achieve strategic goals through engagement and optimization of its people. The Associate Director leads a strong team of professionals, oversees the delivery of responsive, inclusive, and high‑impact OD and engagement initiatives across the VP Human Resources portfolio, and provides expert guidance in organizational development, coaching, change management, and HR communications. Key Responsibilities Design and implement leadership programming and professional development programs. Lead consulting services for team‑related initiatives across UBC HR community. Develop coaching services and manage a community of UBC certified coaches. Implement and enhance the performance enablement system GPS. Lead change management initiatives and define enterprise‑wide transition strategy. Develop and oversee workplace engagement initiatives, onboarding, and continuous listening strategies. Provide strategic HR communications support for VPHR and senior HR leaders. Source consultants, manage vendor contracts, and ensure deliverables align with strategic priorities. Monitor industry trends, benchmark best practices, and recommend new methodologies. Oversee program budgets and performance indicators. Minimum Qualifications University degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of seven to eight years of related experience, including at least three years in a specialization area. Willingness to respect diverse perspectives. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion awareness. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Organizational Effectiveness, business administration, OD, leadership development, change management, or communications. ICF accredited coaching certification. Expertise in Prosci or equivalent change management methodology. Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communication skills. Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives in HR, OD, and change management. Strong problem‑solving, conflict management, and mediation skills. Strategic, creative, and critical thinking abilities. Inter‑cultural competency and adaptive leadership. Substantive experience working with senior executives.
