They are currently looking to add an entrepreneurial Lawyer with 3+ years experience in Construction Law. The position will involve exposure to the legal, contractual, regulatory, and transactional issues and procedures related to construction, infrastructure, and engineering with an opportunity to focus on and develop expertise in one or more specific practice areas. Your new role In this new role you will be required to handle many files through the litigation process both independently and as a member of an experienced team. The successful candidate will have carriage of his/her own files and will also work with senior counsel on more complex matters. In this role you will be negotiating and litigating all types of construction disputes. You will deal with matters including issues relating to the tender process, procurement, money due, deficiencies, liens, trusts, and negligent work. You will also advise clients in the negotiation and drafting of all construction-related contracts, including design-build, construction management, stipulated sum prime contracts and subcontracts, P3 contracts, and tender and RFP documents. What you will need to succeed To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ post-call experience, with demonstrated knowledge and interest in Litigation particularly construction. You can work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. You will also have strong teamwork skills, be trustworthy, accountable, proactive and have a positive work attitude. You have the confidence and legal acumen to do great work, and relish in the thrill and accomplishment of winning a case to better your client’s causes. You have thorough knowledge of the Construction Act and other legislation.
