I am currently partnered with a boutique Medical Communications agency who are looking for a seasoned medical writer to join their dynamic team.


Responsibilities:

  • Become the company expert on assigned therapies and disease states, staying current with relevant trends
  • Translate complex medical information into compelling and relevant content that supports brand strategy and is appropriate for different target audiences. Content may include slide decks, manuscripts, posters, newsletters, video scripts, or podcasts
  • Identify and utilize relevant data sources to fully outline, draft, annotate and reference all content
  • Provide guidance to creative teams to create graphs, charts, and other visuals, and develop overall layout of deliverable
  • Present draft content to clients and key opinion leaders, incorporate feedback and prepare the final deliverables
  • Develop surveys and tools for both internal and external projects
  • Assist in developing advisory board materials as directed by account services and scientific/medical directors
  • Attend advisory boards as needed, interact with client and advisors, take notes during the presentation, and prepare post-meeting deliverables
  • Assist Account Services with research and identifying potential Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within a therapeutic area based on parameters set by senior staff
  • Attend medical legal review sessions and incorporate necessary edits
  • Maintain an awareness of project budgets, scope, and timelines and engage senior team members if work is beyond scope


Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, MPH, MS or PharmD preferred) with the ability to deliver high quality writing in a range of styles tailored for different audiences
  • 2+ years medical writing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to transform complex scientific information into clear, accurate, organized, and engaging content
  • Strong skills in standard business software, particularly Microsoft® Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to execute on content development based on pre-determined strategy
