In this role, you will spearhead the design and optimization of key metagame systems, shaping how players interact, progress, and invest within a large-scale AAA title. You will work at the intersection of creativity, analytics, and player psychology, ensuring systems are fun, intuitive, and engaging over the long term. Collaborating with cross-functional partners, you will influence core product decisions and drive data-informed improvements. This position offers a high degree of ownership, the ability to impact player experience at scale, and the opportunity to contribute to a major new IP. It is an ideal role for a systems expert who thrives in technical, player-centric design work. Accountabilities: Design, refine, and balance systems across multiple areas of the game, with a strong focus on player progression, engagement loops, and value-driven monetization features including battle passes, reward structures, and unlock frameworks. Partner closely with directors, design leadership, and cross-disciplinary teams—engineering, product, UX/UI, art, and analytics—to build cohesive, player-first systems. Develop and iterate on systems that enhance both earned and purchased content pathways, prioritizing sustainable long-term engagement. Utilize analytics, player insights, and market research to guide iteration, champion data-informed design decisions, and elevate overall system performance. Serve as an advocate for the player experience, ensuring clarity, fairness, and meaningful choice remain central to all design decisions. Requirements: A strong player-oriented mindset and a passion for designing systems that balance technical depth with accessible simplicity. Experience contributing to at least two shipped AAA titles in a systems design role, specifically on features tied to player investment and progression. Deep familiarity with modern design tools and strong proficiency with Unreal Engine (UE5 preferred). Expert-level understanding of contemporary multiplayer metagame systems and how they interact to support long-term engagement. Demonstrated ability to mentor and support peers, fostering growth and collaboration. Excellent creative and technical problem-solving abilities, combined with outstanding communication skills.
