Head of Application Modernization

Seeking a seasoned and results-driven Head of Application Modernization to lead our efforts in transforming client applications through modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pre-sales, particularly within the financial services industry or other consulting shops. They must also possess extensive experience in cloud architecture, although this role is not a delivery or hands-on position. Additionally, the candidate should have a proven track record of leading teams, managing budgets, and overseeing P&L responsibilities. Crucially, they should excel in engaging with both technical and non-technical C-suite executives.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Leadership: Lead pre-sales efforts, including client engagements, solution development, and proposal creation. Utilize industry expertise and technical knowledge to identify client needs and develop comprehensive application modernization strategies.

  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their application landscape, business goals, and challenges. Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership on application modernization initiatives, leveraging cloud architecture and other innovative technologies.

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of consultants, architects, and other professionals. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to drive team performance and achieve business objectives.

  • Financial Management: Manage budgets and P&L for application modernization projects and initiatives. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetary constraints to drive profitability and client satisfaction.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, delivery, and technical teams, to develop integrated solutions that meet client needs. Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive successful project outcomes.

  • Industry Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to application modernization and cloud architecture. Share insights and thought leadership internally and externally to enhance the company's reputation as a leader in application modernization consulting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in pre-sales, ideally within the financial services industry or consulting shops.
  • Strong background in cloud architecture, with hands-on experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience leading teams, managing budgets, and overseeing P&L responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical C-suite executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results through collaboration and leadership.
Comp : $190-215k base USD
