We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Project Manager to lead and manage a variety of building design and civil infrastructure projects.

This role requires expertise in project management, resource coordination, and technical oversight to ensure successful project execution from inception to completion.

The successful candidate will have the autonomy to lead projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

This role will play a critical role in design, planning, budgeting/estimating, and execution, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead and manage the design and construction of building and civil infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop project designs, specifications and execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate project resources, including internal teams, other engineering sub consultants and external vendors, to ensure effective execution.
  • Oversee project procurement, ensuring materials and resources are sourced in a timely manner.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
  • Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers, Architects, and Engineering Subcontractors to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage a variety of projects such as infrastructure upgrades, subdivision developments, and the design and construction of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Identify and resolve project and resource impediments by generating and executing creative and practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high satisfaction and retention
  • Lead teams to ensure efficient management of budget, schedule, subcontractors, vendors/suppliers, and project billing.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering, preferably Civil, Structural, or related field.
  • Registered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with PEGNL or an equivalent licensing body.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building design, construction practices, and engineering principles.
  • Solid commercial analysis skills, project financial accountability, and management of WIP.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices and green certifications (LEED, etc.) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle shifting priorities.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license.
