Position Title Business Development Manager – Food Industry Reports To VP of Sales and Marketing Location Ajax, ON and surrounding area (On-site) About the Company Our client is a leading organization within the Food & Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and strong partnerships with customers and distributors. They are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team and play a key role in driving business growth across retail and food service channels. Position Overview The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with existing customers, brokers, and distributors. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of the food or CPG industry and a proven ability to drive sales growth through strong account management, business development, and the execution of sales strategies. Key Responsibilities Manage and grow the business with existing customers across retail and foodservice channels. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, brokers, and distributors. Identify new business opportunities within assigned territories and channels. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and service levels exceed expectations. Negotiate pricing, programs, and contracts to support business objectives. Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitor activity to develop effective sales strategies. Prepare and deliver presentations, business reviews, and reports to management. Participate in trade shows, customer meetings, and other industry events as required. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience in Business Development and Account Management within the Food or CPG industry. Proven success selling into retail and food service channels. Experience working with brokers, distributors, and key national or regional accounts. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Results-driven with a strategic mindset and ability to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Ajax area.
