Job Description

We are looking to hire an experienced primary care paramedic as our Medical Coordinator responsible for assisting in the oversight of all medical aspects of our medical programs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This individual will collaborate with medical professionals to develop, maintain, and improve our medical response strategies and equipment inventory, and ordering; and stay up-to-date with the latest medical advancements and industry best practices.

_ Duties & Responsibilities _

Developing comprehensive ALS, BLS, and MTC equipment lists based on industry standards and guidelines
Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of medical equipment and supplies
Maintaining detailed records of equipment inventory, expiration dates, and replacements
Evaluating existing medical protocols and identifying areas for improvement
Conducting regular field and shop audits of medical procedures to ensure adherence to protocols
Providing recommendations for enhancing medical response efficiency and effectiveness
Implementing quality assurance processes for medical operations
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of medical personnel and equipment
Addressing any deviations from quality standards and implementing corrective actions
Organizing and conducting training sessions for medical personnel on updated protocols and procedures
Educating the safety team and clients on medical response protocols and equipment usage
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and guidelines
Keeping abreast of any changes in regulations and update medical protocols accordingly
Overseeing medical response during incidents and emergencies
Coordinating with emergency services and hospitals, as necessary
Analyzing medical response data and providing recommendation reports for continuous improvement.

_ Requirements _

Hold a valid Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) designation or greater
Registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
Proven experience in emergency medical services and medical coordination in an industrial setting
Strong knowledge of ALS, BLS and MTC equipment and protocols
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in rapidly changing situations
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with medical personnel, clients, and suppliers.

_ Preferred Qualifications _

Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Experience with medical equipment procurement and inventory management
Knowledge of relevant industrial safety regulations and standards
Previous experience in quality assurance and control processes
Superior interpersonal communication skills and knowledge of onsite safety practices, related to the medical coverage
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality control.

_ Working Conditions _ :

Work is primarily conducted in an office environment, plus visiting industrial sites to assess the medical response readiness of our field staff, and occasionally start up projects and have new medics '_job shadow'_ you
(Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be used when visiting all work sites)
_The position may involve irregular hours during emergencies or special projects._
