Business Unit Director, Specimen Management BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies, committed to advancing the world of health™. The role focuses on building and executing the commercial strategy for the Specimen Management (SM) business within Canada. Job Description Summary The Business Director of SM, Canada reports to the VPGM BD‑Canada and leads the customer‑facing commercial team (Sales & Clinical, Marketing). The executive is accountable for defining and executing the business strategy, driving revenue, margin growth, and new product commercialization across the Canadian region. The position requires a commercial leader capable of optimizing go‑to‑market strategies, partnering with global teams, and driving commercial excellence through salesforce and distributor management. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement commercially focused strategies that drive revenue and profit growth in Canada using salesforce effectiveness, distributor management, and data‑driven decision‑making. Lead the budgeting process, including quarterly and annual expense forecasting. Design, implement, and manage sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes; ensure accurate integration with broader organization planning. Recommend and lead changes to sales roles, coverage models, and team configurations to improve productivity. Develop sales incentive compensation programs that align with business objectives. Define performance measurement and management programs that drive revenue, market share, and margin growth. Build strong partnerships with global business unit partners and Canadian region teams to accelerate BD growth. Coach, mentor, and empower teams, fostering a culture of continuous development and succession readiness. Ensure compliance with BD quality policies and procedures. Qualifications University degree in Business or a related field. 7‑10 years of experience in Medical Devices / Technology / Life Sciences, with at least 3 years in a senior commercial leadership role. Proven ability in commercial excellence, salesforce effectiveness, marketing effectiveness, distributor management, and go‑to‑market strategy. Strong leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated success in leading high‑performance teams. Experience in P&L management and financial performance measurement (ROI, NPV, etc.). Analytical, data‑driven mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities. Willingness to take intelligent business risks and innovate. Ability to work collaboratively across global and regional teams. Physical Demands Regular travel. Work Environment 4 days in office with one Friday as a work‑from‑home day.
