Reporting directly to the CRO and Corporate Secretary, the ideal candidate has proven experience working collaboratively with executive leadership and a board of directors to lead day to day functions in the Governance division to ensure Affinity demonstrates effective corporate governance. What you’ll do: Provides governance leadership and expertise; works with the Corporate Secretary to develop and implement governance frameworks, policy frameworks and processes to ensure effective operation of Board and Committees Understands and drafts complex governance documents in support of Board and Committee mandates, legal and regulatory requirements, and good corporate governance practices for a financial institution. Oversees annual cycle and processes to support complex governance decisions. Works with peers across divisions to drive collaboration and effective communication. Provides leadership to direct reports to ensure that governance objectives and service delivery standards are maintained. What you’ve got: Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, plus 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience . A legal background is an asset. Advanced expertise in a broad range of governance practices with advanced knowledge of corporate governance, legal and corporate affairs, and Board engagement Advanced knowledge in the development, implementation, and execution of divisional strategy which incorporates leading practices and innovative developments Ability to lead, engage, and coach employees, set clear expectations, review progress, provide feedback and guidance, and hold people accountable Experience overseeing leading practice research and collaborative working relationships to create, implement, and revise innovative processes So, what do you think?
