Jackman Faculty of Law and the Department of Philosophy invite applications for a full‑time tenure‑stream position jointly held at the Faculty of Law (51%) and the Department of Philosophy (49%) in Law and Philosophy. The role is for an Associate Professor. Responsibilities Lead and sustain an innovative, independent research program in Criminal Law, Philosophy of Law, Political Philosophy, or Philosophy of Race. Maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research portfolio. Deliver high‑quality teaching in courses on the highlighted research areas and contribute to new coursework. Engage in scholarly activities, conferences, and publications in top‑ranked journals. Participate in departmental and faculty governance, committee work, and service to the university. Represent the Faculty in external partnerships and community engagements. Qualifications Must hold a J.D. or equivalent and a doctoral degree in Philosophy. Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, including publications, funded projects, and awards. Established international reputation and strong endorsements from referees. Experience in interdisciplinary scholarship that bridges law and philosophy. Committed to the University’s diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility principles.
