Senior Full Stack Engineer

Employee Location: Anywhere in the world - With an intent to immigrate to Canada Role Overview ORX is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong full-stack skills and practical experience building AI-powered applications. You will help develop and scale ORX’s next-generation healthcare and contact center automation platforms using a blend of traditional web technologies and modern LLM-based systems. This role sits at the intersection of web application engineering and AI application development. You don’t need to be an AI researcher, but you must be comfortable working with LLM APIs, building agentic workflows, optimizing prompts, and designing reliable retrieval and orchestration layers. Key Responsibilities Your mission is to help architect, build, and optimize ORX’s core software systems—including our Knowledge Base Intelligence (KBI) engine and AI-driven contact center tools. You’ll contribute across the stack, scaling prototypes into robust, secure SaaS systems that leverage both strong engineering fundamentals and modern AI capabilities. AI Application Development Build and integrate LLM-powered features within ORX’s core products (chatbots, knowledge assistants, decision support, workflow automation). Design and maintain RAG pipelines, embeddings workflows, and prompt templates. Implement basic agentic behaviors (tool use, function calling, memory, context management). Full Stack Web Development Build and maintain responsive user interfaces using React.js and Next.js (SSR, SSG, API routes). Develop backend services and APIs in Node.js (Express, serverless functions). Ensure performance, maintainability, and best practices in frontend and backend codebases. System Architecture & Integrations Build and evolve microservices and serverless components for AI and contact center workflows. Integrate with CCaaS, CRM, and healthcare platforms (Salesforce, Zendesk, Epic, Calabrio). Work with vector databases, relational databases, and NoSQL systems. Quality, Observability & Reliability Write tests across the stack (Cypress, Jest). Implement monitoring and APM tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic). Ensure systems are resilient, debuggable, and scalable for enterprise clients. Security & Compliance Apply security-first principles in every layer of development. Ensure data handling aligns with HIPAA, SOC 2, and healthcare-grade security standards. Work cross-functionally with product, design, implementation, and clinical teams. Mentor junior developers and elevate engineering standards. Participate in agile ceremonies, estimation, and planning. Required Qualifications Core Engineering Skills 5+ years of experience in full-stack or backend roles. Deep experience with React and Next.js for frontend development. Backend experience with Express, REST/GraphQL APIs, serverless frameworks, and microservices. AI Application Experience Candidates should understand and have hands‑on experience with: LLM APIs and prompt-based workflows (OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel AI SDK, etc). RAG fundamentals: embeddings, vector stores, chunking, retrieval patterns. Basic agentic design: function calling, tool execution, contextual memory. Handling AI-specific constraints (token limits, rate limits, retries, streaming). Using or building simple MCP-like tools/services (nice to have). Data & Infra Proficiency with PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Testing & Observability Experience with Cypress, Jest, and modern application debugging. Familiarity with APM tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic). Thrives in startup, high‑velocity environments. Strong problem‑solving and cross‑functional communication skills. Legally able to work in Canada; fluent in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating Zendesk, Intercom, or Salesforce Service Cloud. Exposure to healthcare standards (FHIR, HL7) or HIPAA considerations. Experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django) for AI/data pipelines. Familiarity with LLM fine‑tuning, embeddings optimization, or evaluations.
