Electrical Reliability Engineer


The Electrical Reliability Engineer aids in solving process reliability issues and supports the Reliability Team in developing standards and practices with a strong understanding of instrumentation & controls. This role involves maintaining documented records and tracking key metrics for improvement projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Review and revise equipment criticalities in the CMMS.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions for electrical failures.
  • Enhance predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Create plans for complex jobs.
  • Conduct Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Manage small capital reliability improvement projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop QA/QC standards for critical electrical work.


Qualifications:


  • P.Eng. is required or is actively pursuing a designation.
  • Background in Instrumentation and Controls (PLC, DCS).
  • Knowledge of large motor maintenance (AC and DC).
  • Familiarity with electronic and pneumatic instrumentation systems.
  • Technical support for power and control issues.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills in reliability projects.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Preferred registration with APEGA.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Minimum 5 years in heavy industrial maintenance.
  • 8-10 years experience in Reliability role
  • Strong electrical aptitude and experience with PLC/DCS.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
