Prepare and serve meals as a Dietary Aide, applying food preparation skills and therapeutic diet standards in an assisted living or medical facility. Support residents or patients through safe, timely meal service.
This Dietary Aide position focuses on basic food preparation, meal service, dining-space sanitation, and service-area readiness. You will follow portion standards, observe HACCP guidelines, and apply WHIMIS and MSDS requirements when using cleaning agents. The work also includes supporting special function catering as delegated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare basic food according to instructions and therapeutic diets
- Serve meals while following portion standards
- Set, clear, clean, and sanitize dining spaces
- Monitor and restock service areas
- Support delegated special function catering
Requirements:
- Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
- Previous dietary aide, hospitality, or customer service experience
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
- Good time-management skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and within a team
