Overview OTA Operations Engineer - Triage role at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies. This is a joint venture between two industry leaders focused on automotive software-defined vehicles, connectivity, and related technologies. Role involves supporting a global engineering operations function to maintain vehicle software updates and fleet health data, with a focus on collecting, researching, and analyzing errors related to vehicle software updates. This is a ground-floor opportunity to influence the connected car segment by developing streamlined and automated processes for managing vehicle software updates. Responsibilities Ensure robust software update support for all consumer and commercial vehicles by proactively managing software updates and anomalies across Rivian’s global fleet. Predict, test, and validate OTA and vehicle telematics solutions end-to-end in partnership with Rivian Engineering and other teams. Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design to onboard and validate new OTA integrations, solutions, and features prior to release to production. Perform data analysis to monitor fleet health across the Rivian fleet. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field 3+ years as a technical engineer in IoT, fleet management/wireless/networking, or connected car/EV industries Experience with IoT solutions involving complex OTA campaigns and fleet management software lifecycle management Preferred Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP) Experience with embedded flashing protocols (UDS, XCP) Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and common UDS services Familiarity with cybersecurity and TCP/IP systems Salary and Benefits Pay Disclosure Salary Range for Palo Alto-based Applicants: $105,100 - $131,400 (actual compensation determined by experience, location, and other factors) Salary Range for Irvine-based Applicants: $96,700 - $120,900 Salary Range for Vancouver-based Applicants: 77,400 CAD - 96,800 CAD Benefits Summary : Medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance for full-time and part-time employees and eligible dependents.
