Fleet Support/Transition Engineer – Canadian SAR Helicopter Join IMP Aerospace & Defence in this role focusing on engineering activities supporting transition to a post‑Mid‑Life Upgrade CH149 Cormorant fleet. Requisition ID 2212 Position Overview The Fleet Support/Transition Engineer reports to the CH149 Fleet Support Supervisor and is responsible for engineering activities supporting transition to a post‑Mid‑Life Upgrade CH149 Cormorant fleet as well as assessing and implementing technical initiatives within the CH149 Engineering Acceptable Technical Organization (ATO). What You Will Do Support development and review of inspection packages for aircraft parts and components using guidance material from OEMs. Support comparison, review and evaluation of aircraft maintenance programs and technical documentation. Identify options and conduct options analysis to address issues raised by forums, including configuration differences between fleets and technical or product improvement initiatives. Implement and monitor corrective actions on Service Difficulty Reporting, Special Inspections, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives. Monitor Flight Safety Occurrences and track through ATO processes. Support the CH149 Aircraft Flight Manual Working Group as required. Provide analysis and business cases in support of modifications and ATO initiatives. Coordinate the delivery of technical advice to Main Operating Bases on modifications. Track design changes from OEMs through to fleet compliance tracking and closure. Conduct effective communications and act as liaison on technical matters with representatives from MOBs, DND, OEMs, Design Support Network and Authorities. Deploy initiatives for general process improvements and increase efficiency for the maintenance program. Prepare repair design and analysis and other modifications where required. Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda and directions. Support configuration management and data management activities. Perform airworthiness functions as a Design Engineer or Design Technologist when authorized. Perform other tasks as assigned. What You Will Bring B.Eng. or B.Sc. (Eng.), CET (Diploma in Engineering Technology), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer or CET is desirable. Experience with aircraft structures, mechanical systems, design, composite structures, CAD, component manufacturing processes, NDT/Inspection is an asset. Knowledge of airworthiness regulations, standards and military aircraft modification processes is an asset. Experience in an aircraft engineering environment is an asset. Clear and effective written and oral communication skills. Good project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels. Self‑discipline with ability to work independently when required. Ability to logically assimilate information, identify causal factors, and prioritize tasks.
