Who We Are Grantsimple strives to be Canada’s go-to grant writing partner, helping charities and nonprofits navigate the grant landscape with confidence. We focus on strategy, research, and meaningful relationships to ensure our partners apply for the right grants at the right time. We are data-obsessed, which is what we believe is missing from the grant landscape. We invest in deep industry insights and real-time research to try and uncover patterns that may go unnoticed, in order to better strategize and position each organization and their grant portfolios for maximized fundability. We don't have all the answers (yet), but we are committed to following the money, uncovering patterns, and lifting the curtain. Kind of like private investigators, but for grants. Who You Are You’re a natural fundraiser with a strategic mind. Someone who sees the big picture, spots opportunities early, and charts the smartest path forward. You get energized by solving problems and by the idea that grants can be made better, easier, and smarter for the organizations relying on them. You’re curious and proactive, always asking the questions that uncover real opportunities. You build relationships that feel like true partnerships, stay steady under pressure, and adapt quickly when things shift. You keep complex projects organized, communicate with clarity, and simplify what feels overwhelming. The Job You’ll design and lead tailored grant “flightpaths” (strategies) for your portfolio of partners and then collaborate with our team to bring them to life. You will: Develop customized grant strategies for a portfolio of 15-20 nonprofit/charity partners. Serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted pilot for your portfolio. Act as project manager to oversee execution of the deliverables, coordinating deadlines, deliverables, and team collaboration. Refine funding strategies for partners, helping them align grants with broader fundraising goals and long-term sustainability Set and manage expectations, helping partners navigate realistic timelines, requirements, and fundraising strategies. Provide outstanding customer service by ensuring partners feel supported and informed at every step, while navigating different organizations, goals, expectations, and challenges. You take it all in stride and stay focused on the bigger picture - helping charities thrive in a challenging landscape. Monitor funding patterns and trends to assess opportunities, pivot strategies, and adjust approaches to maximize funding potential. Contribute to writing applications when required. This job is a great fit for you if: You get excited about working with a diverse group of organizations You are unbelievably organized You love building strong relationships and solving problems You love the thrill of seeing things through because loose ends make you itchy. You thrive in uncertainty and enjoy bringing clarity, structure, and direction Integrity is your middle name You take pride in being exceptionally good at what you do You live for deadlines and find satisfaction in delivering high-quality work on time, every time. You hold yourself to a high standard of excellence and accountability, always owning your work and your outcomes This job is not a great fit for you if: You’re satisfied with “good enough” rather than striving to make things better, smarter, or more effective. You get overwhelmed by change, ambiguity, or fast-moving projects. You don’t enjoy managing multiple moving pieces or staying organized under pressure. You don’t feel motivated by improving processes, supporting partners deeply, or creating great experiences for the people around you. You prefer to wait for direction rather than take initiative to iterate and learn You don’t have a deep understanding of the fundraising landscape What you need to have: 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or grant strategy (e.g., grant writing, major gifts, mid-level giving, or donor relations). Experience managing external relationships. Project management experience (juggling multiple deadlines, priorities, and stakeholders). Exceptional communication skills. You can break down complex ideas clearly and concisely. Comfort with ambiguity. You thrive in a role where you make informed decisions, adapt to changing priorities, and confidently navigate situations where not all answers are clear upfront. Strong tech skills in Google Workspace, project management tools, online portals, and spreadsheets. An understanding of nonprofit operations and fundraising principles. Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment. A proactive, solutions-oriented approach - you take ownership and make things happen. What You Should Know About Working With Us We’re a fully remote team. You’ll need a reliable internet connection and your own computer. We operate in EST but offer flexible working hours as long as there’s overlap. This role is for a self-starter who takes full ownership of their work. If you see an opportunity to improve something, you are expected and encouraged to take initiative We’re growing fast. No two days are the same, and we adapt quickly, if you love structure with little change, this may not be the right fit. Room for Growth: We’re a young and fast-growing company, which means your role will grow with us. As we expand, you’ll have the chance to take on more leadership, shape new processes, and influence how we serve partners. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $64,000–$70,000 CAD Benefits: Health & Wellness Spending Account Remote work: Work from anywhere in Canada (some travel may be required for partner visits) Paid Time Off: 3 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, 2 personal days + your birthday off How to Apply Send an email to Lily Pontieri at Subject line: Application for Grants Strategist - Your Name In the email, tell us why this role is a great fit for you and why you want to work at Grantsimple Attach your resume Bonus: Include the word “pineapple” somewhere to show us you read the details.
