Adventure4Change is looking for a compassionate, driven, and skilled Social Enterprise Manager- Sewing Program to lead the launch and operations of a new sewing social enterprise. The social enterprise will be built upon Adventure4Change’s existing mom’s sewing classes that are dedicated to fostering community and learning through sewing. As the Social Enterprise Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service delivery for the sewing social enterprise while building and maintaining our social impact goals to ensure this is a fulfilling and successful employment opportunity for the moms in our community who choose to participate. 


Job Responsibilities: 


●      Service delivery:  Oversee daily operations including scheduling, quality control, equipment, and inventory management, and timely completion of service delivery including sewing, tailoring, mending, and alterations.

●      Leadership:  Manage a team and foster an inclusive, supportive, and productive work environment. 

●      Training:  Provide support and training to enhance employees' sewing, tailoring, and related business skills, such as language proficiency, customer service, technology use, and business management. 

●      Community and business development:  Secure and maintain partnerships and contracts with diverse stakeholders, building the customer base and support networks. 

●      KPI tracking reporting:  Track progress and prepare reports for the organization and funding bodies as required. 


Professional Responsibilities: 


●      Adhere to all A4C policies, processes, and procedures. 

●      Promote diversity and inclusion throughout all aspects of A4C programming. 

●      Participate in available training and coaching opportunities. 


Qualifications and Skills: 


●      Proven experience and expertise in the sewing and tailoring industry. Experience in the community development and/or social service sector is an asset

●      Experience in project management, preferably in a startup and/or community development context. 

●      Effective interpersonal and communication skills

●      Strong leadership skills, capable of fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive workplace environment.

●      Bachelor's degree in a relevant field 

●      Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.

●      Problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

●      Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

●      A passion for community development with an entrepreneurial mindset


Additional Information:

●      Location: Waterloo, ON. 

●      Type of Employment: Full-time

●      Salary: $60,000 annually
