The CPC is a non-profit, private organization with 28 member sports organizations dedicated to strengthening the Paralympic Movement. Job Summary The Manager, Governance & Engagement, plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and Paralympic Foundation of Canada (PFC) Boards of Directors and their committees. This position supports the Boards and their committees in achieving their objectives by fostering an environment where members are well‑informed and equipped with the necessary tools and resources to operate effectively and efficiently. Type: Full‑time.Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annually based on experience, plus benefitsReports to: Chief Operating Officer Location: Ottawa. The position is primarily based in the Canadian Paralympic Committee’s Ottawa office, operating within a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate is required to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week , with flexibility for additional days as needed based on job demands. Head Duties and Responsibilities Board and Committee support Lead and manage the CPC and PFC Boards, serving as the staff lead for the CPC Governance, Nominations & Engagement Committees, and the PFC Governance & Nominations Committee. This includes overseeing all meeting logistics—scheduling, agenda development, preparation of materials, minute‑taking, and follow‑up on action items. Provide support to other committees to ensure alignment of governance processes and integration of work across the organization. Coordinate and support board and committee evaluations to promote continuous improvement and effectiveness. Foster a governance environment that enables Board and committee members to engage meaningfully in advancing the organization’s strategic priorities. Ensure members are well‑informed, equipped, and supported with the tools and resources necessary for effective decision‑making. Governance and compliance Ensure the CPC and PFC Boards operate in full compliance with their governance frameworks and all applicable regulatory requirements. Lead the ongoing development, review, and refinement of organizational policies to ensure alignment with evolving governance standards and sector expectations, including the Canadian Sport Governance Code and Safe Sport requirements. Leadership Communications Act as the primary liaison between the Boards, committees, and Executive leadership, ensuring timely and effective information flow across governance and executive functions. Champion inclusive, bilingual, and accessible communication and operational practices across governance and executive functions. Oversee the systems and digital tools that support governance, policy management, and operational excellence, ensuring accessibility, version control, and continuous improvement. Lead communication and engagement with Sport members and sport partners, inclusive of membership meetings. Support international relations with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) to facilitate Canada’s position as a leader in the Paralympic movement. Requirements Minimum 5+ years’ experience in administrative roles and/or other relevant experience, preferably in the non‑profit sector. University diploma in Business or Sport Administration, a related field, or equivalent work experience. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and tact. Experience working with the Board of Directors and committees is considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Bilingualism in French is considered a strong asset. Exceptional attention to detail and effective time management. Ability to multitask within a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities. Working Conditions Successful candidates must reside in the Ottawa region or be willing to relocate to the Ottawa region. Occasional overnight travel and off‑site work required. Will be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods, including Games and other unique events.
