Overview Lead Standards Project Manager - Electrification role at UL Standards & Engagement. This hybrid opportunity is based in Evanston, IL or Raleigh-Durham, NC or Ottawa, CAN. What You’ll Do Lead and manage standards engagements to enable the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety standards. Plan and execute activities to demonstrate leadership and presence in industry groups where the program’s expertise is sought. Contribute to program management for assigned core industries, providing input and recommendations related to the portfolio of standards. Identify and prioritize industry and stakeholder groups for impact; develop end-to-end solutions and proactive strategies to address complex challenges. Drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders according to roadmaps, priorities, demand drivers, and program strategies. Partner with stakeholders on development, interpretation, and deployment of standards for core industries; engage in technical committees and activities within specific sectors. Develop relationships with core industries to secure participation of high-value stakeholder groups (fire safety, regulators, safety science experts, trade organizations, global interests). Demonstrate impact and influence within the standards development community through work in technical or program areas. Identify opportunities for program and portfolio expansion and create capacity for new high-impact standards by analyzing landscape, gaps, and thought leadership. Monitor industry trends and external context related to regulatory, compliance, government, and global frameworks affecting public safety and hazards. Perform other duties as directed. What Makes You a Great Fit Broad knowledge of program industries with understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards. Program management experience with complex project plans and cross-functional teams. Strong leadership to motivate teams and achieve goals. Problem-solving skills to analyze issues and drive outcomes. Advanced communication and engagement skills; ability to plan and implement communication strategies for diverse stakeholders. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborative interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with senior leaders and external partners. Strategic thinker with ability to innovate in a dynamic landscape. Professional Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree required; technical or advanced degree preferred. Minimum 7 years of related work experience. Experience engaging with or leading electrification-based industry groups or associations. PMP or relevant project management certification a plus.
