Your opportunity The Office of the Registrar at U of T Mississauga delivers registrarial services to support U of T Mississauga’s academic goals and U of T priorities in the areas of student information, interpretation of policies, and innovation of registrarial interactions. Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Recruitment, the Student Recruitment Officer focuses on local and national recruitment efforts, and works closely with other members of the team to develop and implement strategies and initiatives to assist U of T Mississauga in achieving its recruitment and enrolment objectives. The Officer is responsible for promoting U of T Mississauga and U of T in the secondary school and college constituency and the community at large to recruit the most qualified students to the university. The Student Recruitment Officer initiates, plans, co‑ordinates and represents U of T Mississauga at recruitment events and delivers recruitment programmes. The Officer provides timely and accurate student‑focused advising services fostering positive relations with prospective students, their families, guidance counsellors and stakeholders. The Officer researches and analyzes student recruitment trends, and develops new strategies and programmes for student recruitment. The Officer is responsible for evaluating current recruitment activities supported by statistical reports and provides proposals for changes and new initiatives. Working as a member of the team, the Student Recruitment Officer assists with the co‑ordination of the campus visit programme including selection, training and supervision of student ambassadors, ensuring that they have current and accurate information about the admissions process, requirements, and programmes of the university. The Officer fosters positive relationships between academic divisions, departments and student groups at U of T Mississauga so that internal constituencies are kept well informed of recruitment activities and wherever possible are given an opportunity to participate in the recruitment process. The Student Recruitment Officer will be required to travel extensively within and outside Ontario during certain parts of the year (trips can be up to two weeks at a time) and will be expected to make travel arrangements for these trips. The Officer will set‑up their own equipment for presentations, be prepared to make several presentations each day and have the ability to lift boxes of promotional materials (approximately 25 lbs.). Your responsibilities will include Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies Determining appropriate schools to visit based on an analysis of feedback and market trends Delivering student recruitment presentations Promoting programmes at recruitment events Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counsellors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences Conducting post‑event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes Preparing draft programme reports and summaries from data collected Fostering positive relationships with prospective students Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education Minimum four years’ experience in recruitment in a university or post‑secondary environment Experience in post‑secondary student recruitment and conversant with issues related to student recruitment, admission and university life Experience presenting to diverse groups, and in planning and coordinating group events and/or programmes Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills Knowledgeable about a variety of high school curricula, English language proficiency requirements and testing options, and U of T admission requirements Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution skills with a proven record of tact and diplomacy Ability to stay organized and manage deadlines within a rapidly changing environment Proficient in Microsoft Office, webinars, social media tools and customer relationship management (CRM) systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
