Overview Join to apply for the Senior Software Engineer role at GroundControl. Base pay range CA$105,000.00 / yr - CA$165,000.00 / yr Company Overview GroundControl is a technology company revolutionizing quality for aerospace and defense manufacturers. Our mission is to deliver advanced software solutions that enable manufacturers to produce high-quality parts and systems with precision and confidence. These parts power the most advanced aerospace and defense systems in North America today, from rockets and commercial airliners, to advanced next-gen fighter jets. GroundControl is a seed stage YCombinator company, with investors including 8VC, hyper-strategic family office, and notable angel investors. Our software streamlines First Article Inspection (FAI) reporting, ensures compliance with AS9102 standards, and reduces the risk of errors and delays. By integrating powerful data processing capabilities with an intuitive user interface, we help manufacturers optimize their quality management processes. This position is intended to be on-site working with local and remote counterparts. However for the right candidate we will consider remote or hybrid work. What you’ll do Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers Contribute to our Next.js Application and Python / Golang serverless functions to improve reliability and progress the product roadmap Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps Interface directly with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints Who You Are Core Requirements Strong software engineering background (5+ years) from industry At least 5 years working with Javascript / Typescript, React in production systems Experience building scalable and responsive web-based user interfaces Ability to empathize with end-users, to turn needs into features, and to balance user experience with engineering constraints to deliver full solutions Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and meet all other requirements under Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Desired Requirements Experience working with Python and / or Golang Experience working with LLMs Experience working with AWS, in particular GovCloud Significant experience with writing test suites for React applications (Jest, Playwright) Deep relational database knowledge (Postgres specifically) Experience working on enterprise software and the features required by that customer segment What We Value Extreme Ownership You will talk directly with customers from needs, to design, to production code.
